We've heard so much about Googles disdain for paid links and even those Directories that are human edited don't seem to be passing PR in links - am I missing something - I've looked for posts on the topic - havent' found any good one's yet. thanks! However, if you follow a certain pattern (N number of links during X number of days plus some other factors, which I will leave to myself to keep the bad guys guessing) you can (or at least you could some six months ago) harm your competitor's search engine rankings temporarily. Temporarily means that his rankings drop for a month and then get restored. It is very unlikely that someone could make a prolonged impact on competitor's search engine rankings but it HAS been done before and I presume there are still some loopholes. However, I would like to say hooray! to Google as it has made lives of bad guys really miserable. Thanks everyone for the comments!
