UPDATED 17/06/08. The story goes that there are almost 100 million blogs on the Web. The sad side of this story is that the lion’s share of these blogs are spam, **** and ****! It is extremely difficult to find quality amongst this large quantity of blogs. Even respected blog directories now contain links to blogs that are set up only to promote yadda-yadda and display some stupid adverts. rssHugger’s quest is to make a difference.

rssHugger LogorssHugger blog directory was intended to put an end to yadda-yadda and feature blogs that really offer quality content. That’s why it is a human moderated directory.

The brain behind rssHugger blog directory is Collin LaHay. Who is he? No surprises there – he is a professional SEO, blogger and marketing expert. You can tell he’s a professional by peeking into his own Blog Marketing Tips.

Collin’s goal is to attract 250,000 high quality blogs to his RSS directory. At the moment rssHugger directory contains 1447 feeds but then to my best knowledge he only started out in the end of 2007. It is 1985 at the moment of writing the update - so the directory is growing.

To get your RSS feed Hugged all you need to do is register and write an entry about rssHugger in your own blog, if for whatever reason you don’t want to write, you can buy a page for $20 to be included in the directory for at least 10 years. So what is my experience with rssHugger? Well it’s providing a small number of targeted visitors yet I have had no subscriptions from this directory. Also the blog info display page is not straightforward. If a potential visitor has missed the RSS icon, I have lost the visitor because the blog title was not clickable. The site is lacking a basic search facility, which makes it a nightmare to get around. Was it all worth it? Well, yes in certain extent because I am getting some visitors. Can rssHugger be improved? Oh, yes, certainly!
